Beware: the Seattle “Money Bomb” targeting Spokane - again

Spokane City Council candidate Sarah Dixit is a prime target to receive a Seattle Millionaire’s “Money Bomb.”
STOP SARAH’S SEATTLE MONEY BOMB!
The “Money Bomb” as directed by First Mile Circle is a project of Progress Alliance of Washington. The “Bomb Squad” is a syndicate of Seattle-based organizations that choose candidates and cajole wealthy Western Washington donors to send funds on “Money Bomb” day. According to a release by Progress Alliance on August 1, 2024 …
“Between 2019-2023, our cross-class, multi-racial donor circle moved nearly $1.6 million in total to 138 progressive candidates of color across 30 of Washington state’s 39 counties, helping 72 community leaders win and step into public office. Of these winning candidates, 12 were elected to the state legislature.”
Recent “Money Bombs” dropped on Spokane-area candidates include:
2024 Spokane Legislative candidate Natasha Hill received $25,000
2023 Spokane Council President candidate Betsy Wilkerson received $43,888
2021 Spokane Council candidate Naghmana Sherazi received $29,646
How Does One Get a “Money Bomb?”
According to First Mile Circle’s website …
“We organize direct donations to campaigns — First Mile is not a PAC and there are no pooled funds. We make recommendations for investments to members, and members give online directly to candidates in a coordinated "moneybomb" that concentrates the circle's contributions on the same day for maximum impact.”
Back to Spokane Citizen Sarah
Sarah Dixit is running against Spokane Council Member Jonathan Bingle. On her website, Sarah states,
“Progress for the people, not just the powerful” and “This campaign is people-powered—Sarah is backed by neighbors who believe We All Belong in Spokane.” - Sarah Dixit
As of May 28, 2025 - Sarah is actually NOT “backed” by any disclosed “neighbors” in her district as reported by the Washington Public Disclosure Commission.
She IS “backed” by donors from ($201) California, ($1,000) Texas, and ($250) City Council Member Paul Dillon (who lives in the Perry Area of Spokane) and ($300) Laurie Powers (who lives in the Spokane South Hill and is married to former Spokane Council President and current Spokane County Superior Court Judge Breean Beggs).
Sarah’s overtures to being backed by “not just the powerful” ring hollow when she has already taken money from a sitting City Council Member and the wife of a sitting Superior Court Judge.
Sarah is Certainly Signaling that She Would Like a “Money Bomb”
Just read the May 27, 2025 Spokesman-Review. Dixit declares (emphasis added),
“We need to make this whole process more accessible for people, and especially for communities of color, immigrant populations and young people.” - Sarah Dixit, Spokesman-Review 5/28/25
“Money Bomb” sponsor First Mile Circle states on their website,
“We are interrupting notions of “viability” by placing our trust in candidates of color, most of whom are running for political office for the first time. For most candidates, the support they receive from First Mile Circle members is game-changing, enabling them to hire otherwise unaffordable campaign staff, run outreach programs, and focus on engaging their community rather than fundraising.”
Seems like lock-step language? Sarah is following the Wilkerson way to attract the Seattle “Money Bomb.” During her first run for Spokane City Council President in 2023, Betsy Wilkerson also sent similar signaling, which paid Betsy beautifully.
Betsy Wilkerson fundraising solicitation.
In her now infamous letter calling for the “Spokane Trifecta” manifesto, Wilkerson also states that that she would be “Spokane’s first female and first person of color elected as Council President.”
Increasing women and people of color in office is an important goal. And yet, policy positions and qualifications should precede and lead - ahead of of color and creed.
Wilkerson would go on to cash nearly $44,000 from Seattle-area donors through the First Mile Circle Millionaire “Money Bomb.”
Don’t let Dixit follow the West-side Wilkerson Way!
How does the “Money Bomb” work?
Below from the First Mile Circle website …
We ask Sarah to hold true to her statement to be “backed by neighbors” and not the Seattle elite.
STOP THE SEATTLE MONEY BOMB TO SARAH!
What to do? Call Sarah Dixit and ask her to REJECT the Seattle Millionaire “Money Bomb”!
