Lisa Brown planned and attended event with convicted domestic terrorist & attempted murderer.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Betsy Wilkerson and Zack Zappone continue their political posturing to “denounce” our Mayor for attendance at a public event that included Matt Shea (whose politics Nadine has denounced). I find the use of their positions on City Council to waste taxpayer time at a Council Meeting when we have so many real issues to discuss as disingenuous at best. Will Wilkerson and Zappone also “denounce” Lisa Brown for her planning and appearance at a public event hosted by a convicted domestic terrorist and attempted murderer earlier this year?

On May 9, 2023 Michael Poulin hosted an event for Spokane Mayoral candidate Lisa Brown.

Poulin, see below, when asked if Brown attended his event, became sketchy about the affair.

Poulin’s past is more than sketchy.

In 2003, Michael Poulin of Spokane, WA made national news as the FBI conducted a manhunt for him, as the sole suspect of power grid sabotage in multiple states. As reported by the CBS national desk, Poulin finally surrendered in October of 2003 in California and explained his reluctance to surrender,

"The attorney general, because this covers any number of jurisdictions, refuses to tell me what I'm facing," Poulin said. "Because the threat of a terrorism charge hangs over me, I could end up in Guantanamo Bay," the facility where the United States is holding terror suspects.

CBS national reporting also includes,

“FBI agent Norm Brown, in Spokane, Wash., confirmed Sunday that Poulin has a criminal history. Poulin was sentenced to life in prison in the early 1970s for attempted murder, but only served eight years, Brown said.”

The Los Angeles Times reported in 2003 that Poulin’s excuse for his acts of energy grid sabotage were to make a point that it is easy to put the United States and people at risk because he did so,

“We have a situation of one person, one wrench. The person in question is 62 years old, overweight, arthritic, diabetic, half-blind and a cancer patient living on a minimum of 12 medication pills a day,” Poulin said, describing himself.

In November of 2003, The Seattle PI reported that Poulin pled guilty,

Michael Devlyn Poulin, 62, of Spokane admitted to damaging or attempting to damage more than 20 towers last month in California, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. But in an agreement reached with prosecutors before U.S. District Judge William Shubb, he pleaded guilty to only two incidents near Anderson, Calif., and Klamath Falls, Ore.

In 2007, Jim Camden reported in The Spokesman-Review that the FBI had monitored the activities of Poulin and his activities with Spokane’s PJALS (Lisa Brown is a longtime member),

“Repeated references to a former PJALS member who left the group to commit acts of civil disobedience that he suspected the organization would not tolerate. Michael Poulin, whose name is excised from the reports, loosened bolts in about 20 high-voltage transmission towers in the Northwest, which he said was a way to point out how vulnerable the towers were to terrorists. He was arrested while attempting to turn himself in, pleaded guilty to two federal counts of tampering with federal property and was sentenced to 27 months in prison in November 2003.

Poulin returned to Spokane after serving his sentence and has rejoined PJALS, Nelson said. He’s a featured speaker in its current lecture series on “Empire.”

In 2014 The Spokesman-Review reported that Poulin organized and joined Matt Shea at an assault-weapon fueled protest in the Spokane Valley.

Friends - beware of the Lisa Brown - Betsy Wilkerson - Paul Dillon “Trifecta” Two-Step of hypocrisy!

Apparently, it’s fine to join events with domestic terrorists - so long as they are your kind of terrorist.
